Working more but not at my calling as I'm trying to make ends meet by taking several shifts at this clinic. Tonight was neat as I got to speak to the Okla brain tumor foundation as there is a support group that meets and tries to encourage and give the latest information to one another. I updated them on the nutritional information that I have learned and places where they could get some of these. I was trying to do this so it wasn't an add or a promotion but that was hard as I've acquired several of these that are some what harder to get. I did givre them several web sites including my own which they could purchase products without having to see me at www.drhogin.com. I am continually surprised by the lack of good information out there but our foundation is doing an excellent job in all brain tumor areas and is a great source of information, I'm still doing well and need to send a lot of blood to california next week. The prayers are what sustain me so please keep it up as sometimes I can feel that someone is praying for me and that is so special. god bless all of you. Dr Jim

Life is not a bowl of chocolates as forest gump says but nevertheless is it still good and precious. This has been a hard week as I have resumed chemo at a higher dose to trying to limit any attempt for anything to return. All has been good with all scans, etc clear but still I'm doing so well and most aren't alive at this stage we decided to continue even though their is no data to support this. I'm glad I have an open minded oncologist who can be logical and not just follow the books. The chemo this week kicked my butt so the gut has been a mess and I tired and weakened. The last day of this cycle was last night so it will go away in a few days. We will do this probably until the end of the year, check the MRI and make some more decisions. I have tgo send some blood dto UCLA next week as it is part of the study. The only way we know how we are dong is with the MRI and how one is doing. So for now the rest of the story is pending but I believe the Lord is delivering me and I feel I'm to continue to practice. Please keep praying. Dr Jim and family

I was so touched today and a little overwhelmed as where my wife and I often go to eat after church a sweet older Mexican lady so blessed me. Her name is Maria and so cooks the breakfast part of this buffet area. We have gotten to know her somewhat over the last few years and miss her if she is absent. I found out that hert son had died a fedw yers aago and every night she light a candle in his honor and prays. since I have been ill these last few years she now lights two candles, one for me and the other for her son and prays for me and others. She is such an incredible blessing and I told her how much that ment to me and I'm so humbled and honored. I'm amazed by the number of people who come up to me and tell me how good I look and that they and others have been praying for me. How good can it get. Please keep praying and pass it on to others as well. You are loved. Dr Jim

The oncologist and I had a long discussion of whether to continue the chemo or not but since I'm doing so well and tolerate it pretty well we elected to continue until the end of the year and get another MRI later this year. I send a lot of blood to UCLA every few months but the only way to know is by MRI. They hope on the study they can identify other markers to help determine the course of disease. Please keep the prayers for continues healong and remissin and for business to pick up in the office as I'm starting to work some shifts for other doctors to aid clinic income and looking into some home health directorships. In the meantime I feel great and there is next to nothing tht I don't feel I can do except when on the chemo that makes you tired and a little grouchy. I'm trying to do better especially around the ones who love you the most. You are loved Dr Jim and family. It's been a good two years a lot better than the 5-6 months I was given, God knows best.
